Another case of animal abuse is in the local news - dog fighting. I HATE this sort of thing.

The humans who set dog upon dog for their FUCKED UP entertainment are lower than whale shit. There's really nothing unusual about tonight's story. Three miscreants were arrested and charged with a variety of animal cruelty and animal abuse charges.

The dogs taken into custody are a sorry lot. All are suffering. One had a head swollen nearly twice its normal size as a result of recent fight injuries.

I know we have a lot of pressing issues, many that are relatively more important than animal cruelty.

But few of them bother me quite so much at such an elemental level.

And then I hug my dogs. They don't know why. But I feel their affection in return.

1. animal abuse IS an important issue. I don't understand these people, but they are sick, hateful

wastes of skin and oxygen. I seriously think putting them naked in a pen with a rabid animal--the bigger the better, is just punishment.

if I even see anyone close to abusing or injuring an animal in my presence, I put a stop to it in a hurry.

2. I saw a poster re: a CO man on trial for dragging his dog

to death behind his car-- as I was out in the neighborhoods walking my precious doggy girl... I saw the photo of a German Shepherd and thought it was a lost dog poster. I paused to read it and it stopped me in my tracks. Instinctively, I dropped to my knees to hug my big ole girl doggy, who has brought me more pleasure at this juncture in life than just about anything or anyone else. I'm sure she didn't understand why, but licks my ear and almost purrs with contentment when I do that out of the blue.

So, yeah... I can relate.

That sounds very similar to a story about animal abuse that was just on our local news here in Gainesville.
