and that's my only point here. Illegal bodies - the CIA, the Treasury and the bankers - have seized power from all three branches of government. The three branches are puppets for the corporations and their goons.

It's a fugging mess.

Now, BASIC Check-ups for good health is a FOR PROFIT ENTERPRISE.

Crony Capitalism at it's most vile is where neither basic education nor basic health is something the unwashed masses do not have "a right to."

You have to SAVE MONEY to stay healthy or get a basic education. I hate that. :puke:

7. It's very simple.
The CIA is not specifically addressed in the Constitution. Neither is access to health care.

Neither is The National Endowment for the Arts....or federal coverage for pet psychiatry.


We're free to have any of these things...or not, but the Constitution does not specifically address them.

but it is considered part of the "pursuit of happiness." And if good health care isn't part of promoting the general welfare and the pursuit of happiness, why would marriage for heterosexuals only be constitutional?

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

The part about promoting the general Welfare should cover healthcare.

9. Life, Liberty & Pursuit Of Happiness...
About a year ago, I had a debate with a wingnut "friend" or should I say acquaintance on this very topic. He pulled that line on me and I mentioned that passage from the Declaration of Independence. The fact that this person had no clue where it came from (and I wasn't going to help him with that) was telling enough, but then he went a "crickets".

About the CIA...and I know this is a stretch, but this supposedly falls under the "common defense"...the concept that you need spies and a secret police to ensure democracy. Again, a stretch, but wanna bet that's how someone would justify it.

It's a shame when such a basic need as one's health is looked on as a profit center...speaks volumes of how screwed up this country's values and priorities are.

that's not there. Social security, medicare. All of them aren't in the constitution but we have them.AND MOST OF ALL THE BANK CEO'S BONUS.
