Quit thinking in terms of Dem-Puke. Think in terms of Corporatist and Anti-Corporatist.

Once one thinks in terms of Corporatism and Anti-Corporatism one realizes that we had no "majority", the Blue Dogs and the DLC are on the same side as the Republicans, excepting some social issues. If we want real change we don't just need a mere Democratic majority, as shown by the past year. What we need is a PROGRESSIVE majority, otherwise the ConservaDems will just use the Filibuster as an excuse to capitulate to their corporate owners.

Yep, having a (D) or an (R) after their names is far less meaningful than acknowledging their real masters. The U.S. has the best government money can buy.

5. Some wordsmithing

The "anti-" prefix is not an inspiring one, as the "pro-choice" people will be glad to tell you. If you are fighting against something, just by prefixing that something with "anti-" tacitly recognizes its continued existence. When the anti-slavery factions were picking a moniker to rally around, they chose "Abolitionists", which pretty clearly spelled out how they felt about the opposing view. I like the terms Individualist and Progressive as opposites to the Corporatists, and those are better terms to sort out the differences than "liberal" and "conservative".

6. Any hope

that a sizable number of current Dem elected officials would take advantage of populist and policy realities outside the corporate agenda has been answered by a terribly swift NO. That was the only question after the last election, the same as how bad Bush intended to be after his questionable ascent to the throne and when vast opportunities for popularity were handed him and discarded with extreme prejudice.

If we ever ever get real democracy and calm logic and enlightened populism in this strange tyranny I can imagine the younger generation arguing hotly over plan A being better than plan B wondering why I appear calm and content. I will say because I knew a time when we were not allowed either or any options beyond the control of a few people's chase for money dominance for it's own sake.
