Pare it down, make it simple: enact a public option for healthcare insurance.

I'd prefer a single payer system but I have no hope of that happening with this congress. But a simple bill that allows for a public option I can live with. And, yeah, that may be a long shot as well, but without it, there is no real reform that I can see. Without it, we are left at the mercy of private insurance carriers, who have caused most of the problems to begin with. Enact a public option and let those private carriers react to it as they will.
