Chicago Univ. Law Professor makes charges against Bush/Cheney at The Hague!
Below is the message from a friend that I'm passing on. I commend Prof. Boyle
for having the guts that are so lacking in our Democratic politicians:

Well, it has been a long time in coming, but the charges many people expected to be filed against the Bush, Cheney gang for crimes against humanity are finally being filed by the courageous Professor Francis A. Boyle of the University of Chicago College of Law. Below is a small part of the article describing these charges. To read the entire article, here is the link:--

www.rationalreview.com/content/75603

-<<<<<Professor Francis A. Boyle of the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, U.S.A. has filed a Complaint with the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court (I.C.C.) in The Hague against U.S. citizens George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, George Tenet, Condoleezza Rice, and Alberto Gonzales (the ?Accused?) for their criminal policy and practice of ?extraordinary rendition? perpetrated upon about 100 human beings. This term is really their euphemism for the enforced disappearance of persons and their consequent torture. This criminal policy and practice by the Accused constitute Crimes against Humanity in violation of the Rome Statute establishing the I.C.C.

The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute. Nevertheless the Accused have ordered and been responsible for the commission of I.C.C. statutory crimes within the respective territories of many I.C.C. member states, including several in Europe. Consequently, the I.C.C. has jurisdiction to prosecute the Accused for their I.C.C. statutory crimes under Rome Statute article 12(2)(a) that affords the I.C.C. jurisdiction to prosecute for I.C.C. statutory crimes committed in I.C.C. member states.>>>>>

7. I think Obama has already indicated that he would not
extradite. I wouldn't like to be in his position. If he would extradite,
he'd be damned by the right, and if he would not, he'd be damned by the
left. Either way he'll be damned.

15. True. But the crimes were committed in countries that are
members of the ICC, such as Italy, Spain, Greece, France...etc... They have
sufficient evidence of the crimes without any further information from the
USA. If court hearings take place, they would most likely take place
in absentia, since Obama has already indicated that he would not extradite
Bush & Co.

I think the main thing is the court hearings. They would be broadcast world-
wide, and many Americans today, who know nothing about Bush's crimes, will begin
to have some inkling of what had really taken place during the past 8 years
of his administration.

16. Prof. Boyle has also accused Pres. Obama of continuing the
use of torture begun by Pres. Bush, and that he would also charge Obama at the ICC
with war crimes if Obama did not discontinue Bush's practices.

6. This is a minor point, but you've got your universities mixed up.
"University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign" is neither "University of Chicago College of Law" nor "Chicago Univ."

K & R anyway.

12. You are right. If I had said "Illinois" instead of "Chicago", it
would have covered a larger territory. :o)

13. It seems that the top Democratic leadership are alike. In
January 2007, the first thing Pelosi said was that impeachment was
off the table. I wonder why!

more quickly! :o)
