I heard a woman on Washington Journal this morning...
claim that because Bush is born again and not going against the Bible, people should support "our dear president" and the war in Iraq.

This same woman said she was grateful to CSPAN because she always learned so much from watching it. :wtf:

1. Well, if by "born again," she means "born yesterday," ...
at least she's right about that. ;-)

And what the hell does the BIBLE have to do with GOVERNMENT POLICIES?
And even if there were a logical connection, let her look up "love thy neighbor."

3. "Love thy neighbor" has been purged from the right wing "Christian" texts
Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 01:53 PM by truedelphi
As has "So whatever you do unto the least of my brethern, so you do unto me."

The right wing even have bumper stickers that proclaim "Faith Hope and Victory!"

2. This is the right wing claptrap that ensures that Bush will
Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 01:50 PM by truedelphi
Always carry at least nineteen per cent of the popular vote in the approval rating.

Jesus appointed Bush as President. Jesus told Bush to invade Iraq.

Jesus' ministers in right wing faiths are currently telling their congregations that
the Muslims are not of God, and in fact are the "goats" spoken of in Revelations.

Therefore a good "Christian" fears and hates and seeks to support the wars to come, that will end in the destruction of allMuslims, andthat will bring about the Rapture. ANd also the Second coming of the Lord.

I can't see much difference between this "Christian" belief and the "Muslim" belief that if you strap explosives to your body and blow up a cafe, you will be rewarded with 72 virgins.

It is the fanatics on both sides that hold this world as hostage.

4. I was thinking something similar this morning when I read about the automaton
who blew himself up to kill nine marines in the name (allegedly) of Allah. I wondered what this woman who claimed God was on Bush's side would think of such dangerous religious gullibility.

6. I don't understand those who call themselves Christian can justify this war
If they are to be Christ-Like then they should be against the war and try to find any peaceful means to end a conflict.
I would ask these morons, Who Would Jesus Bomb!

7. You also can't rule out that this woman was a shill - some party operative
(like maybe me, except on the Dark Side), who'll call up with the talking points all arranged clearly before her, underlined, checked, and double-spaced, to plant this as a seed with other viewers. I on the other hand wouldn't need any talking points laid out in front of me. They're already in my head - because I thought 'em up myself.

9. It was such a bizarre call I had to wonder if it was a Dem prank.
It's possible. It would make me feel better to know that's all it was.

8. Not going against the Bible?
You know, I'm pretty sure that when Jesus said "Love your enemies," he probably meant "don't kill them."
