The unicorn theory
I loved the way Rachel played it out with the magic unicorn theory. Democrats with sixty votes are actually less effective than Democrats with 59 votes. Democrats no longer have to surrender many of their principles to the unprincipled like Lieberman, Nelson, Lincoln, etc. Now they can concentrate on good legislation and then actually hold Republicans accountable when they block it..A lot of pressure can be applied to Republicans after they block a jobs bill, or an energy bill, or well the list is actually quite long. People want and need help. america is hurting and Republicans are standing in the way. Instead of believing in the magic unicorn of 60 votes, which in reality was just that a magic unicorn. They never truly had those votes. Lieberman saying publicly and proudly that if Liberals want it he would oppose it..I actually believe we are now in a better situation than we were with that imaginary super majority (unicorn). It has been very rare in America's history that any party had a super majority and yet legislation still was able to get done.. This no at any cost is going to bite Republicans in the ass "Big Time"...IMO

2. That is the attitude Democrats need to have now
Now is the Time for all Good men to come to the aid of their country. We have two choices, give up because Republicans now can filibuster every single bill or fight like Hell for the Good of the Country... Republicans truly do not care about the wefare of the nation and Democrats now need to help the people understand this FACT.
