Tennis star Anna Kournikova's mother has been arrested and charged with child neglect.

Police were alerted after Alla Kournikova's five-year-old son survived a 15-feet high drop from a second-storey window at his mother's Florida home.

The 46-year-old socialite left young Allan, half-brother of former tennis ace Anna, in her Palm Beach pad while she went out running errands.

A spokesperson for Florida's Department of Children and Families said that after speaking to family members, officers concluded that there was no need to take Allan into care.
