in 1992, the 27th amendment was ratified. This amendment limited Congress' ability to give themselves a pay raise.
I believe it was first proposed under Madison and took this long to be fully ratified.

to bar themselves from getting pay raises during election cycles or something to that effect. Imagine how long it would take for an amendment banning corporate personhood. I'm betting on the late 23rd century.
