Maine has voluntary publicly funded elections. In theory it would be one way around

the corporate funding debacle, but sadly I have noticed that not all of our candidates opt to go that route. And the Presidential candidates never do, because they know the golden rule: "He who has the gold, rules."

However if we could really show the candidates how much we prefer for them to use public funds only, maybe more of them will do so? Maybe?

1. Is that what Libby Mitchell's clean elections bit is about?
She's been emailing like crazy for donations lately.

2. Yes, her website has an icon saying so. As far as I know the Green candidate will do the same.

4. The way to show them is to not vote for them if they do
restrict their campaigns to strict federal funding. Of course, the current POTUS decided to forgo federal campaign funding so he could rake in millions more from whom ever provide that money.
