Freerepublic is down - Are they against Supreme's decision too?
I like to check on the views of Republicans on important issues. Does anyone know if the failure of the Supreme Court is recognized across party lines?

1. Some of them were.
But mostly because they somehow think Obama is going to benefit.

9. Just tell 'em George Soros is thrilled about the decision.
MoveOn.org and ACORN, too. If they weren't against it before that, the will be once you tell them that.

29. That isn't my point
I thoroughly doubt they are for it. The point is, this ruling works both ways. Pointing out that it also benefits the likes of the eeeevul George Soros, unions and the freeper boogeymen should scare the crap out of them, whether or not he and those other organizations approve of it.

3. Righties may not like the idea of Soros, Unions and activist orgs
being able to give their money to Dems. But, the corporations can easily out spend all of those.

8. Something doesn't compute...
with a conservative being angry at the bank bailouts but not having a problem with those very banks spending a shit ton of money to buy off the politicians in the first place. Get rid of the ability for banks and other powerful entities to buy off the politicians and perhaps you also get rid of said bailouts.

21. Something like that...
We are all being marched towards totalitarian rule, whether people are willing to admit it or not. The people at the top of this power structure have learned from previous totalitarian takeovers (Hitler, etc.). They've learned that it's better to take over gradually by simply distracting the fuck out of the people (stupid TV shows, stupid movies, etc.) and appealing to certain emotions in people that allow certain laws to be enacted (PATRIOT Act anyone?). The gradual destruction of our civil rights allows for less resistance from the people. Eventually our rights will be so eroded that when we finally realize that we've been compromised, it will be far too late. We are nothing more than lab rats to the people who really pull the strings in this world. I'm sure people like me will be the first ones sent to the gas chamber because I know what they're up to already and I won't just accept their bullshit propaganda.

A Freeper once posted a lengthy complaint about it over on Slate Magazine's forum.

Had to look up the connotations of "Pour encouragez les autres".

Thanks for the quotation. I know that you were referring to the freep-a-thon.

26. Freepers really believe corporations will give?
Where is the profit? Everything they do is based on profits. Will the stockholders let the corporation take from them for politics? Seems like a classic conflict, more money or buying politicians?
