How To Recruit A Freeper To Join Us On Opposing This Odious SCOTUS Decision
Now, I know that this is under handed and ethnically insensitive. However, if you know of a better way to pull Freepers on our side on this issue, let me know.

First, ask a Freeper if they know who Carlos Slim Helú is. If they don't know, tell them that Carlos Slim Helú is the richest man in Mexico, and he made his fortune, in part, in telecom.

Next, say to this Freeper, that with this SCOTUS decision, Carlos Slim Helú, will be able to freely spend whatever he wants on candidates to guarantee that Mexican illegals can cross the borders freely. Why would he do that? Remember, he made his wealth through telecom, so when all those illegals in America call him, he gets paid. So, spending on candidates is just a sound investment decision.

Use that scenario on them and see what they have to say.

2. Why would advertising illegals can cross the border change a single mind?
If anything, seeing ads like that would turn even more Americans off to uncontrolled immigration, right?

4. No, You Wouldn't Advertise The Issue Directly
The bought candidate(s) would just vow in secret to allow this to happen.

9. Maybe you don't understand what the SCOTUS ruling was today
You seem to have the wrong idea what it permits.

10. I Understand What It Permits

Maybe you're missing the point.

If Mexico's richest man wants to ensure that the US borders remain open to illegals, then he'd strike a deal with a candidate or candidates to buy ads to support him or her and in return, said candidate would be obligated to keep the US borders open.

They would not openly buy ads to allow illegal immigration from Mexico.

6. they don't get past "corporation good, government bad."

they can even get totally fucked over by a corporation themselves, and most still don't make the connection.

there's no convincing someone who chooses to only think in slogans. they will fall back on "corporation good, government bad" in almost every situation.

11. I have no desire to extend an invitation to any freeper or teabagger
...to 'join us' in opposition to anything.

Sadly, they seem to be doing a lot more in the way of enlisting 'us' to join them these days.

Thanks, but no thanks.

We're going to need them to fight this. We may have to change the constitution in order to do this.

14. I think that we as well as Dem's should co after these nut bags, sorry teabaggers.
What they are doing is wrong. What they say is wrong. What they are being feed is wrong. It is hard, but it's time we recruit them. They hate snootiness, so lets get down on their level with reality.

We will have to think of ways to deprogram them. I think it will be fun.

"Ewww... my child saw the new senator Brown naked." How's that?

17. I suspect a few RW'ers will understand how bad this decision will be.
Edited on Thu Jan-21-10 09:50 PM by joeunderdog
Even in their narrow minds, they will fear higher cable and phone bills, no net neutrality, CITGO gas on every corner, higher fees for *everything* in banking and insurance, Chinese products putting all your relatives completely out of business, Saudi's moving in to your very own neighborhood...

BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.
