410 is the year that Flavius Honorius watched as the city of Rome was sacked for the first time in nearly 800 years. 66 years later the Western Roman Empire finally collapsed.

I think we are as fucked now as the Romans were then. I thought it the other day when Brown won, and even more so now. And I don't think we'll have the 66 years that the Romans had before our country falls apart. I hate the thought too - I was hoping it would not be in my lifetime or the lifetimes of any children or grandchildren I might have.
