1. Gotta love this from the Order of Immunity
Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 06:33 PM by Oreo
EXCEPT THAT THE ABOVE DOES NOT IMMUNIZE THE SAID
LAWRENCE ARI FLEISCHER AGAINST CHARGES OF PERJURY GIVING FALSE STATEMENT OR OTHERWISE
FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE ORDER OF THE COURT

Thanks for posting this

3. Yes but Ari Fleischer outed a CIA Agent knowingly
I'm not to happy about this Immunity

but if it was needed to nail Libby then OK

but Fitz better come up with more convictions than
Libby

I'm still waiting for Fitz to nail Cheney and Rove

Cathie seems to me Not recollecting very much
and seems to protect Cheney

she's a real scummy character
hidden but questioned more than anybody so far

4. High Marks to Fitzgerald's Staff for Keeping This...
... so up to date, huh?

The terms of Fleischer's immunity deal look like a pretty short leash.

10. What did Ari give them that demanded Immunity
Did his testimony nail Scooter?
I'm a Fitz fan just trying to make sense of things

Ari violated the law just wondering was the immunity worth it?

16. Not fully known
Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 10:45 PM by Patsy Stone
But, Ari felt he was in enough danger (real or perceived) and decided to sing. As Fitz said, he didn't know what he would get (and we still don't know what he got), but he probably felt comfortable enough after the proffer that whatever all of it was, it was worth forgiving Ari for telling Gregory, Dickerson, and the female reporter from Newsweek(?).

Today Ari told the jury that Libby not only told him about Plame before Libby supposedly heard it from Russert, he also told them that Libby knew she was in CPD, and Libby used her name. That's a lot of nails in Libby's coffin. Well worth it if you were only going after Libby, maybe more so if your plans are to go higher.

Big, big chess game.

17. yes his testimony nailed scooter.
Ari testified that Scooter told him JULY 7th that Plame worked in non-proliferation at the CIA and that was "hush hush"

Scooter had claimed he learned about plame from Tim Russert several days later. Which was a big fat lie.

31. Both! Here's Scooter's weird goodbye letter to Ari.
Now I can see why Scoots' handwriting was an issue in some of the pre-trial discovery! Jeez.

2. Scooter's certification in response to GJ subpoena dated 1/22/04 is interesting.
He specifies "the subpoenas that relate to phone records." Jennifer Mayfield (executive assistant to the Chief of Staff at the time) is also suspect. What were they trying to hide?

19. Do I understand that this is important because Ari exposed
Plame's identity to the public? And or can you explain if the significance of this is that this goes deep and high up. I did read a couple of days ago that Cheney asked for the White House spokesman to address the press for Libby in the same way that they did to get suspension off of Rove. Well anyways, maybe the purpose of the site you reference is to reveal the heavy heart that Fitzgerald had with giving A.F. immunity. Well, I might not understand all the moves going on or why but I appreciate the updates on this trial.

24. It's important because Libby claimed by early July he'd forgotten that he knew about Plame and her
employment at the CIA. (Yeah right and the dog ate his homework.) But here's Libby telling Ari on July 7 what Libby claims he didn't "remember that he knew." Libby had told Fed investigators and the grand jury that he first knew about Plame on July 10 when Libby claims Tim Russert told him about Wilson's wife. (Russert denies that he and Libby ever discussed Plame.)

Ari's testimony shows that Libby was giving out the Plame info on July 7, at a time when Libby claims he had "forgotten" the info. Judy Miller will testify next and (if her testimony is consistent with her grand jury testimony) will say that the very next day, July 8, Libby was again telling her that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA. (He'd also told her that at a meeting on June 23).

As Fitz told the jury in his opening statement, "You can't learn something on Thursday that you're giving out on Monday." Which is why Libby's on trial for lying and perjury.

I hadn't looked at it in awhile - thanks for reminding me. What a contrast to other Government agencies/websites who are pulling things down and hiding documents from the public.

It's good to see you're doing better and posting again. May I ask about IdesofOctober? Haven't seen any mention of him recently.
