15. What the HELL does the President have to do with a decision made by the Supreme Court????
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 10:24 AM by groundloop
Unless something has drastically changed since I took Civics 101 President Obama has nothing to do with this. IF this is to be overturned action has to start with Congress, and there is already some action going on to do that.

24. Obama has nothing to do with SCOTUS decisions until another
justice dies or retires. You must have been stoned during your Civics classes.

about it. If the sheeple ever figure out that they have the all power and decide to use for their own good, I'm there. If they don't, I'll enjoy a sideline seat for The Big Show.

18. No, that position implies fear.
After almost 30 years, I'm just tired of hoping that the terminally stupid will eventually look around them for a moment and see what's been done to them and by whom.

So no fetal position for me, more a reclining in a comfy chair with a joint while enjoying the slow-motion collapse.

But, here's a :kick: for you.

My doctor tells me I need to get out of my recliner more, so I figure I'll just get more politically active. Starting on February 2, when our precinct and state senate district caucuses convene. I think, in this off year, I'll push to get named as a delegate to the state convention, too.

11. Not waste my time / money making politcial donations. Why bother?
Every time I buy gas, buy food, buy a car, buy clothes, pay my cable bill, etc. a portion of that will be going toward political spending against my interests.

I simply can't compete with that.

What's next? Corporations have unlimited voting rights?

26. You must not watch football much. Punting sometimes works out very well, thank you.
It's 4th down, and 40 yards to go - you want to "go for it"?

That always works out well.

So your analogy fails. We're 4th and short. Punting is not an option.

39. You're in denial. The rules of the game were changed. You'll figure it out.
It isn't time to change the way we play, or to play harder.

It's time to play a DIFFERENT game.

My giving $50 to the DSCC is a waste of my money and their time.

Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 10:31 AM by havocmom
Worked my ass off and stayed un-medicated for my whole life. The view now is unbearable to my old eyes.

Have come to the conclusion that you can't fool all of the people all of the time, but you can fool enough of the people over time to do all of them in.

edited for typo

40. At my age, at this point in my life, energy is a tank that is empty
Hoping it will be restored, as it has countless times in the past, but a couple of good therapist said my only real problem was a tendency to see reality.

Have tilted at lots of windmills despite seeing clearly that was what my efforts amounted to, but tilt I did.

Dr Franklin has always been my model. He worked hard, but accepted reality too. "A republic, madam, if you can hold it".

42. Work even harder to elect candidates that will restore our democracy.
We must make it clear to our elected officials and candidates that they must make this issue a top priority, in both word and deed. Personally, I'm going to make this a litmus test and suggest that others do so, as well. Every other issue is deeply affected by this.
