on this court.

There is no doubt after this ruling that the majority of corporate broadcast newsmedia has been carrying water for the fascist agenda all along.

Any Court nominee who puts democracy and citizen's rights over corporate rule would get smeared 24/7 as a 'judicial activist' by the corporate media, while REAL judicial activists who actually BELIEVE in working to promote fascist rule over democracy get passed along with their philosopies undiscussed....they escape unscathed.

9. media mouthpieces aren't using that phrase...it went missing from their cue cards....
I expect they'll find it quickly once there is a vacancy on the court and a Dem president is doing the nominating.

3. and Chuck Todd just claimed they 'don't know what the ruling means' just as his GE masters told him
to say.

The ruling means FASCISM officially replaced democracy as the governing philosophy of this nation.

But GE's fascists don't want their teabagging sheep to realize it just yet.

4. The corporate media typically gets their talking points from the GOP.
Judicial activism is no longer one of their talking points.

Have any Dems been on the teevee talking about judicial activism?

5. Media knows WHO to book at times like these.
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 10:19 AM by blm
After 9-11 they spent months turning uninformed hawks and neocons into anti-terrorism experts while freezing out two of the top lawmakers who actually STUDIED and tracked global terror networks over the years AND uncovered who exactly was funding those networks. John Kerry and Gary Hart were NOT booked for any of the newsmaking programs at that time.

Fascism in the newsroom starts in the production offices and booking desks.

8. I totally agree.
The media is a huge part of our problem. They decide what is or isn't news. They can turn a nothing into a something or a something into a nothing without batting an eye. :argh:

6. It's only *judicial activism* when the ruling favors regular people, rather than conservatives.
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 10:18 AM by seafan
After what this same crowd forced down our throats on December 12, 2000, is there anyone left who doesn't realize that a handful of rogue right wing Supreme Court Justices who would nullify our votes would also unleash complete corporate control over what remains of our system of government?

Welcome to the merging of Corporations and the State.

We are now engineered into fascism.

7. The RW who claim to be patriots delivered the country over to the fascists.
They never respected democracy enough to fight the dumbing down the corporate media targeted them for in the first place.

12. I'm talking about citizen voters who handed their country over to fascists unknowingly.
The corporatist Dem traitors knew damn well what they were doing.

13. forget about 'corporatist Dem traitors'

it's the whole fuckin' party. People like DK serve as nothing but sucker bait, holding out hope that left leaning voters grasp at only to have it jerked away each and every time. Time to look reality straight in the eye, there is no recourse in the electoral system until there is an entity which represents the working people and it must come solely from the people.

14. This just goes to show
that the decision really won't change things all that much.

The corporations ALREADY have total control over the media.
