I will have to leave the room, or i will risk throwing something right thru my big screen TV downstairs....Yesterday's SCOTUS ruling on the Citizens United V. FEC case, where the conservative justices' basically said "F U" to over a 100 years of settled law & gave corporations a frighening new level of power, might have just been the greatest example of judicial activism, EVER...

Once again, this just shows why we need to keep a Democrat in the WH....Supreme Court appointments are for life, & the thought of any Republican making the next appointment(s) should scare you to death...Then there are the appointments to District Courts as well as the Court of Appeals that a president will make as well...

Yesterdays Supreme Court ruling was a judicial 9/11

1. Yeah, it's amazingly quiet on the right...
Had this been in a social area, they'd be screaming "ACTIVIST JUDGES".

3. One of the reasons we have a RW Supreme Court is the reaction
to Liberal Judicial Activism of the Past. Using the
courts to promote Ideolgy. Roe V Wade, etc.

The Hilarious Argument is just that. They use
the Courts for RW Ideology, especially Business
Law. In this regard, one could argue the RW Court
has been even more activist.

4. There have NEVER been "liberal" justices, at least as far as a sane definition of liberal goes.
There have been far-reich whackjobs like the gang of five, and some slightly less-than-extreme conservatives.

But a true-blue liberal? Someone who tried to push things as far to the left as the Court goes reich-ward? Never.
