So we're now 'officially' fucked...
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 11:24 AM by PCIntern
Big surprise...

This has been coming since the Eisenhower farewell speech. It took 50 years, but they're there.

Inexorably and inevitably we have been moving in this direction, and it is just impossible to fight the entropic nature of this so-called civilization.

On edit: thanks to whomever for the unrec and fuck you, too.

1. Well
At least we don't have to worry about our votes being stolen.
They stopped doing that after the year 2000 theft.

2. We are only defeated if we allow ourselves to be defeated. PAss the constitutional Amendment to
renounce corporate "person hood".

5. Respectfully disagree.
1. We're defeated when they say we're defeated (See Bush v. Gore)

2. No chance of this passing when they are in control...Winston Smith had more of a chance in 1984 than that amendment would.

6. This is about permanent GOP rule--make NO mistake about it.
Just because some Democrats are shameless neoliberals doesn't make it less true.

This decision indeed IS another Bush v. Gore.

4. you do realize there were no restrictions on corporate electioneering when Dwight gave his speech
right?

Restrictions were passed through Congress once,
they can be again.

9. I don't know about that.
The industrialists have actually become less important. Now the bankers and financial parasites are in control of our policy.
