Our Team is still talking about cutting Medicare, tone deaf or what?
Here's the quote:

“The package could also include changes in Medicare, to reduce the growth in payments to doctors and hospitals ……”

and here's the link to the entire NYT article from todays paper.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/22/health/policy/22health.html?hp

Is it me or are our guys still missing the essentials of what has so many Americans pissed off ??

11. It's astounding to me that after all the commentary of the
past 2 days, they are still making statements guaranteed to generate additional opposition to what they are trying to accomplish. Poll after poll show that Americans overwhelmingly support Medicare For All. Why can't the Democratic Leadership recognize the enormous political advantage in making that their talking point and really fighting for it. Don't they appreciate the significant disadvantage the Republicans would be in when they fight against it?

13. If fraud and waste are the issue, then talk about it explicitly.

The problem with using general statements about cutbacks is that most folks interpret it to mean a reduction in benefits and that is one of the major factors in fueling opposition to health care insurance reform.
