Wealth Distribution in the United States
Financially speaking, there is a great inequality in the United States. Over the last 30 years, while the rich have been getting richer, the poor have been getting steadily poorer. One reason for the growing disparity between the rich and the poor is the fact that most new jobs that are created pay low wages and often do not offer retirement plans or health coverage. Here is a graphic look at the widening gap between the nation’s rich and poor.

7. begin organizing towards industry-level strikes, which means working outside
(but hopefully with the blessing of many) existent labor unions.

Or, open politicization of the labor unions.

9. What the heck? They never even show wealth distribution
Start with the minimum wage and then the Gini coefficient which even I don't really understand and I have an MA in economics. Plus the graph of the Gini looks pretty darn flat. Then talk about income quintiles, which is fine, except the title said WEALTH distribution, not INCOME distribution.

It might be far more useful if it was noted that in 1970 the top 20% got 43.3% of the income compared to 4.1% for the bottom 20% and 10.8% for the next lowest quintile. Compared to more recently in 2005 when the bottom got 3.4% the next got 8.6% and the top 20% got 50.4%.
43.3 grows to 50.4
4.1 shrinks to 3.4
10.8 shrinks to 8.6
