Another gem from Grayson:
his definition of modern-day conservatism:

"offering comfort to the comfortable and afflicting the afflicted"

The guy has a way with words and a gift for the succinct!

4. Dearie?
Edited on Sat Jan-23-10 07:20 AM by greenbird
I posted this as a positive thing. It's fine if it isn't Grayson's original quote. It's still good. I didn't think that I was entering the "who's the smartest and most-informed" contest!

Edited for correct punctuation. If I'm going to go down, it'll be with the correct punctuation, damn it.

8. you accused me of unreccing it- which is a stupid thing to do
when you don't and can't know whether I did so and when, as it happens, I did no such thing. I find that irritating.

nothing wrong with what Grayson said; I was just pointing out that this is not something he coined.

9.  I should let this go, but . . .
The tone of a dialogue changes when one participant uses words like "uh", "dearie" and "stupid". I was wrong to assume you unrecc'd my OP. THAT is true.

6. Grayson is our Hugo Chavez
And I mean that as high praise.

Hugo Chavez haters are free to take offense.

All I know is, I get the same satisfied feeling, and all the Oil Industry Republicans that I work with get the same look of disgust on their faces when either Alan Grayson or Hugo Chavez make the news.
