Poll question: Got a fund-raising call from the DNC today.
I pity the caller, because I about took his head off, complaining about the spinelessness and rudderless leadership being shown by our democrats in office. Finally, after I quit ranting on a whole litany of issues, I apologized for being so outspoken, but I also finished with a warning: "Not a penny more (I donated a whole mess o' money in 07, 08, and beginning in 09) until the Democrats start acting like democrats, and grow a spine."

He laughed. He told me that 100% of his calls over the last week have resulted in identical results. Angry donors, explaining that the behavior of Congress has been unacceptable. Without leadership. No plan. Caving in to the Ultra Right. He said that part of the job has been to take notes of the complaints, and report to the DNC leadership. He said that the message was clear, unmistakable, and strong. "GROW A SPINE." He laughed again and said, actually, his job was easy, because the responses were so similar (and uniformly angry).

I am glad for three things: 1) the DNC is actively calling donors, democrats and supporters. 2) The masses are telling the DNC exactly how unhappy they are, and why. 3) The message the DNC is taking from this fund raiser is the Party Must Move Left, and Grow A Fucking Spine.

How will the DNC analyze the message from the people?

3. Too true.
At least Franken got a lot of Illinois support. (and from elsewhere)

Being asleep at the wheel in Mass, well, there's a lot of fault to go around there. Starting with Coakley herself. I just loved her "royal we" concession talk. All it showed was even more arrogance and cluelessness.

But imagine if the DNC got the message right, and realized that ours is a liberal nation, not a center right one. If they could pressure, educate and push for more liberal policies, heck, we might even get a majority in the sena . . . . . what am I saying? The GOP has a 41-59 unassailable majority.

2. "Hear it, chew on it, and ..." BUT...
...they might publicly pay some lip service to it to placate us.

5. I received a similar call this morning from the DSCC and
my response was "you have to be kidding me", before I hung up. Dithering old fools asking for money when they can't even put their pants on. What a joke.

6. Would it be somewhat better if you had kept them on the phone for a second longer
to explain why? So they dn't get the opposite idea?

8. I send messages to them regularly, my message does not
need to be vetted or interpreted by a telemarketer.
