So we're safe...for now.

Corps already have nukes, they are the ones who create them, be interesting to find out at any given time which companies like Westinghouse etc, have nukes in their possession.

6. Neighborhood nuclear superiority...coming to a neighborhood near you
But silly, because creating and maintaining nuclear weapons is frightfully expensive without any real potential to make money. Corporations are about profit and the bottom line. They will vote to keep government from following the ideas of Adam Smith.

Now, I could see a company that uses Nuclear bombs to dig canals. You see, you set it off at a certain distance undergound, and the area above the bomb subsides leaving a trench. It would actually be cheaper.

8. But coporations aren't really "real people" either. They are artificial people
In that way, they are incredibly privileged legal constructs in our society.

9. Well, the Supremes have no barrier against ripping up centuries of established law
They've already said that the right to bear arms is an individual right, and it shouldn't matter that there's no good reason for anyone to stockpile nukes. It "shall not be infringed." Limitations on types and strengths of weaponry are by definition infringement. And corporations are the right kind of people to maintain nuclear weapons. Could Joe Militiahead purchase or maintain a nuclear missile out in Montana, much less a delivery system? Yet that would be right up ExxonMobil's alley. How better to maintain a strict security in places like the Persian Gulf? Why should BP bother the US or UK military to do all their dirty work? If they had their own nuclear-armed submarines, who's going to attack their tankers? A well-armed Persian Gulf is a friendly Persian Gulf!

10. I wonder if this thread will go to the dungeon?
You are a card, Bolo.

This scenario is frightening and in the realm of Rense, Madsen, or Infowars.

If one is older, things have happened in the geo-political-economic world that should not be a surprise alas.

13. Corporations can get anything they want...
Like the other poster says, they already have nukes, but obviously under strict government control. They run nuclear research facilities, but then again so do teaching institutions where nuclear labs are all over the country. I remember touring the University of Michigan nuclear reactor as a student there, with the blue glow under the water.

Any US Corporation can get any firearm you or I can get if you are not a criminal. For example, a corporation can legally obtain certain machine guns without the checks that individuals have to get. An individual has to get his fingerprints taken, send a photo and get a Brady check. A Corporation not being a person has no photo, no fingerprints and no background to check. How else do you think Brinks, bodyguard companies and security companies or Blackwater/Xe get their firearms?

(Of course, a criminal can obtain any illegal firearm on the street, today, without any encumbrance a law abiding citizen has to submit to...)
