So, Big Ed and Gibbs are in a cussin' match!!!
MSNBC's Ed Schultz had some choice words for White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs during a recent off-air conversation -- an extension of their contentious televised exchanges.

"I told him he was full of sh*t is what I told him. I mean I did." Schultz told an audience in Minnesota over the weekend. "And then he gave me the Dick Cheney f-bomb the same way Senator Leahy got it on the Senate floor."

Schultz continued: "I told Robert Gibbs, I said 'And I'm sorry you're swearing at me, but I'm just trying to help you out. I'm telling you you're losing your base. Do you understand that you're losing your base?'"

The MSNBC host sparred with Gibbs on his cable news program last week, and has repeatedly accused the Obama administration of giving up too much ground to moderate and conservative Democrats as well as Republicans on health care reform.

3. I'm not a fan of Ed at all but good for him here.
I don't have to like him to admit he is spot on in this instance.

17. Did he move left or is that just my imagination?
I heard him once on a panel and tuned him out because he was a little too conservative for me. But that was about two years ago.

I don't remember when it was done before.

10. I saw at least one of those Ed shows - Ed was so right and Gibbs was an ASS
It's like Gibbs was above Ed and anything Ed had to say meant nothing - at least that's how he came across. Ed's 100% right - watch the vid - Gibbs IS full of shit. Good for Ed.

16. Unlikely, even if they continue to lose. The New Dems and DLC'ers
already showed us their agenda.

That said, Big Eddie and others should continue to beat them over the heads with it.

20. How did he sell out on HCR? He's been talking about it non-stop even when
others stopped. He has been especially critical of the sell-out Democrats and Lieberman who got the bill so watered down that even the House won't pass it.

I think you are confused.

24. Bullshit!
He's never sold out on HCR. He's been a strong advocate for the public option. He's been a pit-bull on this issue. Where did you get this absurd idea that he sold out?

I've been listening to him for years, and defending him on this board, where he's been savagely attacked in the past for being too conservative. :wtf:

22. Schultz and Grayson convinced me not to switch to Independent
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of leadership and vision among the Dems right now and considered switching to Independent or even not even bothering paying attention anymore, but Grayson and Schultz definitely keep me hoping.

Hopefully, eventually, the base will take over.

23. "you're losing your base",.... Wrong Ed Try
The Past Tense as in "You Have LOST your Base".

This as Ed likes to say, Ain't rocket science folks.

Sure, They talk a very good talk, But in the meantime, War Criminals walk free, Banks continue to rape the middle class and the investment class is as greedy and motivated as ever to set up the future Savings and Loan fiasco, Enron Scams and so many other criminal acts simply because TALK of serious change, Change you can believe in, Has never translated into real world actions and never will.

You gotta hand it to the DLC fellas, They really pulled a good one this time.
They KNEW Americans were fed up and DEMANDED change from the same old same old.
So what they did is to run TWO DLC candidates,aka... Clinton and Obama just in case.

Yep, Just in case. Just in case a REAL change maker were to come along and spoil the Good Cop Bad Cop game that the Republican Party and it's sidekick on the Democratic Party side wouldn't be left out in the cold.

Brilliant for them, Too bad for us :(

Now go ahead, Slam away, But you won't even come close to what I used to do to Obama Slammers some mere six months ago.

29. Ed was wrong
I agree, I think "lost" is the word. It has already happened. The numbers dont lie

In the 2010 Congressional elections will you definitely vote, probably vote, not likely vote, or definitely will not vote?

Def/Prob Not Likely/Won't

Dem 54 43
GOP 82 17

White 67 32
Black 26 55
Latino 38 51
18-29 38 53

Gibbs needs to listen to Ed and not curse him out, this is a crisis. Handing over Congress to the Republicans this year would be scary and a disaster. If you think it is bad now?
