there was a mini-interview in Sunday's NY Times with Cornel West . . .
who they described as "Princeton professor, philosopher, fiery orator, civil rights activist, classical violinist and actor (in two 'Matrix' movies). On weekends, Dr. West travels the country delivering lectures, being, in his own words, 'a bluesman in the life of the mind, a jazzman in the world of ideas, forever on the move.' . . . there was one part of the interview that I found, well, amusing . . .

HITTING THE BOOKS Downtime is reading; I’m always reading on the plane, whatever the reading is for course work the next week. I’m also always rereading the classics, Plato, St. Augustine.

EVER READ FLUFF? I might pick up Time or Newsweek and take a peek.

well said, Doc! :fistbump: . . .

you can read the rest of the interview here . . .

1. Plato, St. Augustine?
He's way too heady for my mind.

I like(d) him. No regular old fictional novels?

Oh, to be so smart!
