The president is facing a party who is self-destructive. Just look at HCR. You had those such as nelson and other Democrats who would never have voted for a public option or single payer. The Democrats were back-stabbed by people within their own party, and those who said they would support it.

Now you hear a division about Bernake getting reappointed. Some like Feingold and Boxer are voting no I believe because they truely believe it would not be good. Others are doing it for political grandstanding. It is those others that want to shift the blame for the problems to Bernake. In other words, he is a convienent scape goat. Who didn't insure that there was no accountablity for the financial bailout? Congress. Who got rid of all the regulations and reversed Glass Stegal which helped get us into this situation, Congress.

I don't know what will happen, but there is a reason why Congress has very low approval ratings
