3. I am actually being serious. With Biden's son not running, and Obama's seat up for
election, the Democrats are in real trouble in 2010

They have nothing to lose, and everything to gain

Are we going to self-destruct?

4. After years of hoping for a Democratic majority, I'm done.
I'm beginning to think that letting repukes have the majority and have their way would be the best thing. Before you jump all over me, at least that way they would really finish things off and maybe the typical stupid American would wake the hell up.

We've fought to blunt the impact of their extreme stance on every single issue for years and it hasn't accomplished much. They are never going to give up or relent the tiniest big in their agenda to destroy the world. I'm sick of it.

6. They're doing what they were hired to do
In a just world, where politicians governed based on the concerns of the populace they would do just as you say (which is an excellent idea), but sadly we arent the people who hired them, so our concerns arent important.

Since Reagan our political system considers maximizing corporate profits their main priority, anything that might cost them is not in the cards.

5. They wouldn't want to upset Mitch McConnell or Jim DeMint.
