1. It is not the amount, it is WHAT that amount is spent on that is the problem. Besides,
if any "cuts" are warranted, look to the wasteful War Department and the other "redistribution" of wealth that the government engineers for the benefit of the already-wealthy.

2. Mostly bad.
If for no other reason that it's one more thing that he campaigned on that he nows dumps by the side of the road.

3. Good idea that doesn't go
nearly far enough. We need to CUT spending, across the board, including the military, social security, and medicare. Just freezing spending on discretionary items does nothing.

We MUST begin to spend LESS then we bring in. Ask yourself a simple question. How long can you survive, by spending more then you bring in? How long? A year, maybe two. Then what?

Go ask your ex-neighbor what happens when you spend more than you bring in. It has got to stop folks, if not, we are ALL bound for tent city.

4. A fucking stunt that will hurt far more than it will help.
That's what they are.

5. Bad politically and economically
It's bad politically because it feeds into the GOP frame that spending cuts help the economy (or are at least part of a viable economic plan.) It's bad economically because spending freezes never work.

7. I don't know exactly what is being frozen, so I can't pick.
I know what is not being frozen, and I disagree strongly with that decision.
