Latest Fox News Poll:

By 47 percent to 35 percent Obama bests former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The president has an even wider edge over former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin (55 percent to 31 percent), and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (53 percent to 29 percent).

3. Good Idea - Especially the FOX Polls
I just don't remember this much polling taking place when Dubya stole the office twice.

4. So the message is that the American public wants gridlock?
Assuming that this "big red tidal wave" takes place in the Congressional midterms, but many of these same voters will choose to retain President Obama in 2012?

5. There may be some of that, but I think we're getting a bit paranoid

In Massachusetts:

(1) Coakley was a lackluster out-of-touch candidate
(2) Brown was an effective candidate, young, energetic, and good looking
(3) The "we've already got good healthcare, why risk making ours worse" fear has some legitimacy
(4) MASS may be BLUE compared to the GOP, but independents vastly outnumber both parties

I expect a "small" anti-incumbent red wave for midterm elections, but I should also quote the last paragraph of the Fox poll:

Finally, twice as many people say they would vote for Obama (48 percent) as would back a candidate from the Tea Party movement (23 percent).

Voters are distrustful of Democrats and Republicans and rightfully so. They are even more wary of nutty teabaggers.

The level of losses in 2010 will be determined by how well we get a handle on jobs and the economy. All the rest is just political noise.
