You forgot the "what freeze?" option. That's my vote.

6. Since I haven't heard of the details...
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 01:06 PM by HiFructosePronSyrup
it'd be pretty foolish to make a decision either way.

9. Why not just concede defeat?
According to Jared Bernstein, its not really a spending freeze, with 7/8 of the budget unaffected. So, why even announce it as some kind of partial remedy, other than to lick the dirty behinds of conservatives? Didn't Truman say, "If you give people a choice between a real republican and a fake republican, they'll pick the real republican every time"?

So much for 'change'. What are we to do? We live in a 'corporatetacracy', where wealth in the hands of a very few are dictating policy. Now, thanks to SCOTUS, they can dish out billions to destroy whoever stands up to the monarchy.

The United States needed strong populist policies to return power to the people. All we're getting is more Friedman insanity. And thinking the voting public is smart enough to understand the ramifications of conservative policies, look at what happened in the last special election. Those numbnuts just invited back into their house the party who raped and killed their last puppy, handing their new puppy to the exact same psycho.

We are screwed. Good luck.

11. Can I hear it fully explained first? Or even half-explained? Right now, all I
have is about as much information as would fit in a tweet.

12. How can anyone defend unlimited spending? who is in
favor of running up debt for as far as the eye can see? Isn't this what we crticized Bush for? Obama is keeping the recovery funds in place, certain benefits for the poor intact...etc. Why not cut some things where we can and should?
