1. Hey, Lar, how about spending some of that coin to . . .
. . . bring back all those outsourced jobs, eh?

3. They buy lobbyists, politicians, judges...
So that next year they can make $560,000,000.

4. Not straight salary. Most of it was stock gains ...
That's incorrect. The bulk of his compensation is from stock gains. Click on his name and Forbe's shows the details of his comp.

$1MM salary
$10MM bonus
$1.45MM other
$543.75MM stock gains

17. Question:
If he decided to cash out those stock gains tomorrow, would he collect $543.75 million?

5. I don't understand how he is managing to live on that pocket change.
I think many Americans would just be happy to have a job right now. That kind of a salary is just gross.

10. Probably writes off spending a lot on "entertainment expenses" for all of his lunches with ladies...
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 04:12 PM by cascadiance
As someone who used to work with a sales rep who worked with Oracle many years back, and knew others that knew him, he had quite quite the reputation as a hustler with a whole "litter" of lady friends (perhaps many from Oracle) that he'd spend time with...

Not sure if he's still into that, but wouldn't be surprised that chews up a lot of his time...

13. Probably was better looking some 20 years ago...
... but that still doesn't stop some types of ladies from these pursuits. Especially in a society that's becoming more fascist everyday.

19. I'm not saying he looked "good" then, just better than he is now...
The guy's and old man. Though perhaps has a bigger bank account now that makes him more "attractive" now than then to some ladies that value that sort of thing.

14. He started the company
And its not salary, its stock options and stock gains.

He essentially "sold" a portion of his share of the company. Is that wrong?

21. Uh-huh. You would if your job went away to India . . .
. . . which is where Oracle's tech support is located.

Couldn't Larry Ellison spend a little of his pocket change and bring those jobs back to the USA?
