Kudos to American Idol
Unbelievable last night...
I had tears in my eyes...
It was raw and it was not pretty...
but they are doing something.
The poverty and despair at home
and around the world...this is what
MSM should be reporting.
In my opinion AI just stepped
up to a new level.
They have power and millions
of kids and adults watch that show.
I gave $3.33 to Dennis and I gave $25
to them. Not much, cuz I don't have much...
But I wanted to help.

3. They raised over 30million dollars for Africa and the poverty in the US!
Money was given by major Corporations and money was contributed by the amount of votes as well. Tons of celebrities contributed and Ellen Degeneres led the event.Phone lines were also open for phone in donations.Bono and One were also involved.

5. Simon
said that he really didn't know
places like that exsisted...

The segment that shows the 25
year old dying of aids and the wee
little room the 12 year old lived
with his brother because their
parents had died. And he was the
head of the family. He took care
of his brother and got him to school.

Ryan got Simon up on stage to talk
about it and Simon had to keep turned
away. He couldn't look...his emotions
were bare for all to see.

4. I gave too...though...
a little more than I had planned to..I forgot to select the amount I wanted to give, ($25). The default on their online form was $50. Dang! Good cause though.

7. Hey, I might not be a FOX fan but they did a good thing tonight.
And one can be sure that the money will be monitored because of the involvement of BOBO and ONE. Whatever.

10. Yeah, well keep thinking that Rupert is a really good guy.
I have a check that comes every month, if they fail, I'm screwed.

Talk about mixed feelings...

8. Anyone watching American Idol last night....
would have been far better off watching Bill Moyers on PBS. And I agree with you about FOX's programming. Drek. All.

Too bad it is on FOX. Next to Gray's Anatomy, it is my favorite show!

13. I couldn't bring myself to watch it, but I am a big supporter of ONE.org
Great organization, and yes, kudos to American Idol for letting Bono and ONE reach a whole segment of the American public that might otherwise never pay attention to the issues of poverty and disease in Africa and other countries.

I will ask my Idol-watching friend if it meant anything to her. I doubt it, she probably thought it was a distraction from the "exciting" competition, but you never know.
