On the other hand, out of little acorns . . . .

The Watergate was actually treated like a little acorn at first, and then the acorn grew and grew and . . . the president had to leave office in shame.

So, we don't know where this investigation will lead.

And I have a feeling that, as in Watergate, the real investigation will be done not by authorities but by the news media. The news media is just desperate for a big story that will sell. Hard to say, this could fizzle into a just a prank with some very bad legal repercussions for those who participated or a very serious tree.

I'd suggest you read up on what's really going on here...several astute DU'ers have added some meat to the bones that will give you an idea of how this could expose a long-established GOOP dirty tricks operation that has been used over and over to influence elections (and appeared to be at work once again).

My family was visiting Washington DC the weekend of the Watergate break-in. The newspapers and teevee talky talks all thought the whole thing was hilarious.
