State of the Union: Isn't that great
After eight years of republican spending, republican wars, and republican scandal, our country isn't doing that well. Duh! It will take many years to recoup from that eight years of disaster. But what has Obama done for us? First and foremost, he has staved off what was a looming financial disaster that could have brought down the nation! Remember a year ago? People were talking about a complete financial collapse! Obama to the rescue. Yeah, it cost us a bundle, but saved our ass. One up!

Then, a disaster in Haiti that dwarfed the Katrina disaster. It was handled professionally and as promptly as could be expected.
We didn't have a "Brownie" to do a "Heckuva job", thankfully, and fortunately, a little more was done than our president doing a fly-over.

At least this president knows the difference between shit and shinola!

We may not be in the best of shape right now, but we are on the track to recovery, which a year ago was only a hope.

Thank you Obama, and fuck all the republican obstructionists who tried to derail this recovery.

1. You speak the truth
but don't expect a lot of positive feed-back. DU, much like the media, is obsessed these days with the negative.

2. I know.....
...but I do not let their opinions skew mine. I don't mind people bitchin, a lot are really hurtin right now and need a place to vent. When things are bad, people go negative. That's a natural response. It's hard to be upbeat when you're looking at losing your job, or your house, or you are facing bankruptcy. That's what Bush left us. Obama didn't cause these tragedies. The first year was all about plugging the leaks so the ship would continue to float. It's hard to bail water from the bottom of the sea!

4. Can you read?
No one said anything about "happy days". Your cynicism is exactly what I am talking about. I think that everyone agrees that things suck but constant whining and nay-saying and snarking accomplish nothing except make everyone who is already miserable just a little more miserable.
