to his son's criminal activities! I can tell you though, if I had that job & MY son had done something so stuipd, he would prefer the courts to ME!

Since the son is 24 years old it has nothing to do with he father. If as has been said already the father was involved in any way, then yes he should, otherwise there is no reason for the father to resign.

6. Yes. His son and others connected to him are charged with felonies in his jurisdiction.

Only by removing himself entirely from the office can he assure that the prosecution will be without his direct or indirect influence. And clearing the way for the Democratic replacement that should have taken office a year ago would show that he was not involved in any way, and that he will not accept any of the continuing benefits of remaining in that position.

He's not going to be kept beyond the new appointment, anyway, so the question is whether he leaves now, or as soon as Vitter stops the hold on the appointment of his replacement.

Unless he's as big a hack as his son, he'll resign.

Because to the GOP appearances are everything. Or strike a deal, have Vitter release his hold on Obama's candidate for the eastern part of the state. Vitter is insisting the current one must stay in place and prosecute the case
