1. Not his biggest fan, but this was a home run speech.
Defiant and inspiring.

6. Thanks for the honesty.
I hope Obama can keep you on board with actions to follow up the speech.

4. Obama is smart and a great speaker.
So despite this hideous year, he gets a well deserved A.

Unto itself, the speech was great. Really called out the party of no and the "special interests" code for lobbyists and corporations, I think?

But, after the disappointment that was 2009, I know know actions must follow a good speech. It's a B with that into consideration.

Offshore drilling, Nuclear power expansion and more clean coal? Best zinger pointed directly at climate change deniers: "I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change"

Best line.

11. It was a good speech
Not great, not fantastic, but good. And also surprisingly conservative for a Democratic President who has a comfortable majority in the House and Senate.

13. Charisma is not what I am looking for. It sacrificed Democratic core values to reach rightward
sure it was fun to see him give it to the Justices, but in the whole this could almost have been a Reagan speech. Those of us who were adults at that time will recognize it.

If we give up our core values for expediency, do we really "win"?

16. I didn't agree with everything he said, but give him an A
I've been through an emotional roller coaster watching the health care fiasco, seeing as how my wife is being directly affected by our insurance company. I don't blame President Obama for the mess in the senate, but believe he could have been a better cheerleader/coach throughout the process. But he pumped me up just a little bit with this speech, I hope he can carry through on it.
