Is a simple "thank you" all that hard to say/type?
I'm peeved. This is a petty matter and may only matter to me. But here it is.

From time to time, in DUs big forums and in the little out of the way places like the topic forums and groups, people ask for help. Not to do anything political. Just a request to the community to help their kid with homework or learn about how to shine the chrome on their hubcaps. Whatever. The requests I'm talking about are all small and personal.

Generally, such requests get answers. Oftentimes, lots of answers. Oftentimes answers that take time to consider, maybe research, and to type in. For some of us, such answers, given simply out of caring and wanting to help, are longer and more considered than a typical post.

It is a peeve when such replies are not acknowledged.

It doesn't even need to be a personal thank you. If there were many replies, a simple post at the end of the thread saying "thanks, everyone, for your help" would do very nicely.

Isn't that just common courtesy?

Have made excellent chicken soup, due to the help of folks 'here,' and I hope my 'thanks' were sufficient.

2. I haven't experienced what you describe, but I totally agree with the sentiment.
