Stupid Republican Move & How Do We Hang Them With It?
Edited on Fri Jan-29-10 12:16 AM by laughingliberal
Last night when President Obama mentioned stopping subsidies for companies that send our jobs overseas he got a very loud round of applause. I noticed, however, when they panned over to the Republican side of the aisle, the Republicans were not applauding for that. I can only assume this means they support continued subsidies for companies who send our jobs overseas.

Any ideas how we hang them with this?

edited spelling. oversees changed to overseas

1. Not to mention the hand-sitting that occurred....

...when Obama talked about his cutting of taxes, and his plan to get the bailout money back from the banks. The Pukes sat on their hands for that too. That stuff is golden, or should be, if you're a Dem. Nevermind the big expensive campaign ads...just play the appropriate SOTU clips corresponding with the Pukes sitting on their hands, and especially when Obama cracked wise about not getting GOP applause for his middle class tax cuts.

on edit: also not to mention the SCOTUS dressing down over last week's decision...

The Pukes took the bait on that one too and through their silence expressed their approval of corporate-bought elections.

3. Yes, a nice shot of them sitting their sour faced while Obama spoke of cutting middle class taxes,
getting our money back from the banks, and stopping payments to companies who outsource our jobs. Then, a nice voice over, "Your Republican representatives, just whose side are they on?"

2. Sounds Like The Makings Of A Great TV Ad
Just show that clip, and the ensuing pan over to the Republicans, and them sitting there looking dejected. Then just put the following words on the screen: "Out of work? Can't find a job? Look into the faces of the people who couldn't care less. Vote Democrat." Then maybe have a few arrows pop up pointing out the names of some of the Republicans who aren't clapping (specifically targeted to the district where the ad will be played).

5. I see a commercial.
"President Obama, in his first SOTU called for stopping the shipment of US jobs overseas."
"The reaction from the Republican Party? Overwhelming!"
Camera pans to the entire collection of malcontents sitting on their hands.

6. Republicans support anything that increases profits for business owners and stockholders,

and sending jobs overseas so they can pay workers a tiny fraction of what they would be forced to pay them here does that, so of course they support the idea of sending jobs overseas, and that includes supporting that with subsidies. And who would turn down a subsidy? Certainly not a Republican. They are always for the socialization of risk and the privatization of profit.
