The way the Republicans defeat the truth.
They attack it over and over again. Repetitiously, they will say that Obama "lied" the other night. They will say they have the plans and the programs to help the American people, everything from jobs to healthcare. Over and over, they say it.

But they could not defeat the truth if not for the "corporate media". Maybe we can get the Supreme Court to rule on these "corporations"? Or maybe they did and we just don't realize it yet? It is the media that provides the outlet for the Republicans to repeat their propaganda over and over.

The President told the truth about the Republican Party, as they sat on their stone cold hands. He told the American people the dirty truth. The Republicans have blocked everything just because they can. They have no desire or incentive to work with the President or the other Party. The President told them to their faces that there was a $1.3 trillion deficit when he walked in the door. They had doubled the debt in just eight short years. Their policies had failed. Now, the Republicans have to start at square one and re-doctrinate and "educate" the American people all over again. It shouldn't take long.

1. Repetition
All the Republicans have to do is to repeat something over and over. After hearing the same lie for four or six times the average American has now been programmed to consider it true.

3. A lifetime of pavlovian conditioning by the advertising industry
There is at work a monstrous synergy in this nation, between all the worst elements, and it has fully captured our government, our national dialogue, our minds.

It really is quite frightening in terms of what the American Subject Populace is capable of, as the rotting whiffs of our Cherished National Myths (not to mention our still mostly comfortable lifestyles) are the only things keeping our National Personality (so much like the 1933 Germans, it isn't funny) in check.

5. my friday evening
I was at a town meeting to meet some Democratic governor's running for Governor of Connecticut.

MAry Glassmann, Ned Lamont and Dan Malloy.

I asked Lamont about record concentration of wealth and mentioned all our institutions are failing us and are run by sociopaths.

Interesting sensation when you use the same hyperbole from your DU posts to when you're talking to politicians in person.

He had plans for CT economic growth - more education more engineering, infrastructure, and when i mentioned there are six people in line for each job in America and where are the jobs you're going to go to when you get this really good education.

I feel an obligation as a citizen to make these people really understand how this average American feels. I also told the gentleman he was with that I really appreciate Obama helping out a laid off 55 year old guy like me. the extended unemployment and picking up 65% of Tarp is a great help and I truly appreciate my fellow taxpayers helping me out right now.
