Juries are supposed to only examine the facts. He admitted to doing something that is a crime..It is not up to the jury to change law by opinion.. They must decide ONLY whether he did it or not. Not whether there is any sort of excuse..It is up to the judge to determine if there are extenuating circumstances

22. All true but one juror who practices "juror nullification" can still cause major problems.

There are plenty of "open and shut" cases which ended in hung juries because of juror nullification. Sometimes it is possible for a judge to dismiss a juror who is not deliberating fairly based on the facts. But it can still be a tough call.
