BOSTON (AP) -- It was bad enough that President Barack Obama lost his filibuster-proof margin in the U.S. Senate to a Republican. Now it turns out he also lost it to a relative.

Genealogists said Friday that the Democratic president and the newly elected senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, are 10th cousins.

The New England Historic Genealogical Society said Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, and Brown's mother, Judith Ann Rugg, both descend from Richard Singletary of Haverhill, Mass.....

9. Every time someone comes on the scene the next thing

you know a genealogist says they are related to Obama. Do you know how easy it is for someone to cross hairs and relate someone to someone. When I do research I WANT TO KNOW MY RELATIVES. I don't look for the rich and famous and then connect them up. Although we have a fight going because someone has posted a chart trying to connect our great great great grandfather to Thomas Jefferson thru Margaret Randolph...no no no no they are not. but they won't listen and won't take it down. So you see it is easy to do.

If you would only look at some pedigree charts and see how many people claim to be related to Braveheart. They say he is their grandfather about 20 or times. Well how can that be...he never had any children. AND THAT IS DOCUMENTED.

We can't help who are relatives are, and some of them are better than others.

I am actually related to Ann Coulter. Seriously. Truthfully. That hardly means that I agree with either her politics or her style.

I hope the President' cousin Scotty proves far less embarrassing than dear old Cousin Ann.
