Gay dating site's Super Bowl ad rejected by CBS

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Super Bowl network CBS rejected an ad Friday from ManCrunch.com, a gay dating Web site.

"After reviewing the ad, which is entirely commercial in nature, our standards and practices department decided not to accept this particular spot," said CBS spokeswoman Shannon Jacobs. "We are always open to working with a client on alternative submissions."

2. I'm not at all surprised. However, the "Banned by CBS"

campaign may just be beginning. I expect the video of the ad to go widely viral almost instantly. Sometimes one way works to publicize something...sometimes the other way does.

8. the ad is for "players" and NOT people looking for a relationship. CBS wouldn't air this type of ad

on prime time even if it was definitively for straight people.

Too bad it wasn't an ad for gay men looking for relationships. If the slogan was more along the lines of "tired of playing and looking for someone to stay".

THEN it would have proven discrimination for not airing it.
