As far as I can tell, they weren't even blocking road traffic or behaving in any other disruptive manner. They were, however,
exercising their right to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech.

My understanding is that this was an illegal arrest and should lead to lawsuits and displinary action against the persons who ordered it.

Moreover, considering they were letting the tea baggers bring assault rifles to anti-Obama protests, this is ridiculous.

1. There are very specific laws involving crowds, signs, and noise around the White House.
If they would not move on, they would be arrested.

Happens quite often.

2. So there is nothing wrong with walking around with a hidden or huge-visible gun at a
political gathering that is in the proximity of the President provided the gun loving show-off is standing in an OK place. Yep?

6. Yeah,
especially when "in proximity" means "outside the secret service checkpoint and security barrier with an unloaded rifle".

The guy wasn't even in the building. I dunno how much you know about "assault weapons" but they can't shoot through a building.

3. Might require a permit...some places do..
can probably be beaten in court on First Amendment grounds though.

4. I would presume...
assemblying without a license, failing to disperse, and malicious mischief.

Or whatever local variations thereof.

5. It sounds like the demonstration was a huge success!
The whole purpose of a demonstration is to draw attention to grievances. What better way to do this than to get arrested?

7. You sound concerned
What makes you believe it was an illegal arrest?
