1. Why is this story
even in the news, really? He's out of politics forever and we have bigger fish to fry...

13. He gets no quarter, for using the civil rights battle of others
as a hypocritical cover for his own actions. For standing in front of America and raving about his traditional Baptist roots, and his view of marriage as a sacred bond between, get this, one man and one woman, and how because this defense of marriage was 'simply a part of' him, he had to stand up for God and against basic equal rights for minorities he stated are less holy and loved by God than him and his wife and mistress, or any of the children from any of those unions.

16. He is and/or may be
all those things plus. My question is, why are we paying attention to it? His chickens have come home to roost and he will pay the price. To me, for me to watch and hang on every detail is akin to attending a public execution which NEVER brings out the best in the spectators.

I mean, it might be seen as a "convenient" way to get rid of embarrassing problem? Is Edwards capable of it? Who know. Many of us thought Edwards was sincere in his love and loyalty for Elizabeth and now we know that's not true.

I don't trust Young either, though. He's no paragon of virtue - not if he was willing to lie for Edwards for so long. Hunter isn't "coming clean" because he feels this great moral responsibility. He feels he got screwed by Edwards and wants to make money off his "inside" information. If a few embellishments make for a juicier story, well, why the hell not.

7. Did he ever say he was anti-choice? Or do you mean having an abortion is amoral?
Edited on Fri Jan-29-10 11:12 PM by uppityperson
I may have misunderstood.

8. No to be fair he was consistently pro-choice
but he definitely played himself up as a family guy and conservative when he thought it served him.

15. It's called being a hypocrite, nobody likes one, and Edwards is hypocrite A#1.
He was campaigning on how loyal he was to his cancer stricken wife.. while cheating on her. He was campaigning on his salt of the earth values... while making sex tapes and then pressuring the gal to have an abortion.

He then lied about it for a while.

F him.

6. Just proves that schadenfreude knows no party label.
If you parade around as some paragon of moral virtue, God will smite the FUCK out of you.
