3. Considering they control the Military, much of Law Enforcement, and Intelligence
Edited on Sat Jan-30-10 09:58 AM by tom_paine
perhaps Obama is running some things by them so they are on board with it and won't have the parts of the Executive Branch they still control make trouble for him.

Maybe he's apologizing to him for his performance last night of making the Repugs look stupid and explaining to The Don of Americcca and His Son that he didn't mean it, it was just for show, and that he has no intention of actually straying from his placeholding position or deflecting Bushie Policies in any way that isn't easily reversible or systemically damaging.

Crazy? Who the hell truly knows, but we have as much right to be skeptical and study Kremlinology as the 1970s Russians were, considering in so many ways our nations IS 1970s Russia (kinder and gentler version).

One thing is certain: Very little, if anything, regarding the governance of our Empire, is as it seems or is remotely related to the propaganda-shit-sandwich served up to us by our Corporate Masters through the RW Lie Machine and the "me too" Corporate M$M.

7. I'd like to believe it has something to do with Haitian relief, but . . .
wouldn't protocol for that require that Clinton and Dubya also be present?

Another alternative, Obama is going to let the Justice Department loose on Dubya and Dick, and this is a courtesy to the family to explain why.

Both explanations simply show that I'm still far too much of an optimist.

This is probably just a proxy shareholders meeting to divide up the world.

9. I wish the Bushes were there so that the Attorney General could notify them
that they are targets in an investigation of war crimes.

But, that would require respect for the Constitution and the laws of the land, and we know that's not the case! :(

10. disgusting that Tony Blair is being grilled and investigated about his illegal war
and Bush and Co are just having a nice lunch at the WH.

he should be behind bars. every politician who signed on to these wars should be investigated, including the dems.

yeah, every damned one of them.

38. Grilled?! That's a hoot!
The 'investigators' threw nothing but softballs at him, allowing Blair to make the case why he was right all over again.

And what will happen after this 'investigation'? Nothing! Add to that the fact that they recently decided to keep all evidence on Dr. Kelly's murder under the rug for 70 years, and Blair will walk away scott-free.

Wake up and smell the coffee: we, the West, we don't hold our leaders accountable; we let them get away with murder (literally). No, we reserve that for baaaaaad African, Asian or Latin-American leaders --unless we need them for our benefits of course.

34. Apparently, old Poppy was in town and wanted to meet with Obama
Washington (CNN) - Former President George H. W. Bush returned to the White House for a rare Saturday morning meeting with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, but administration officials said no specific issue was on the agenda.

The former president was in town for the Alfalfa Club dinner on Saturday night and just wanted to sit down with Obama to talk, officials said. His son Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida, accompanied him for the visit.

When asked how the meeting went as they departed the White House, former President Bush called it a "good meeting."

Another son, former President George W. Bush, returned to the White House for the first time since leaving office two weeks ago for a meeting with Obama and former President Bill Clinton on relief efforts for Haiti.

President Obama will not be attending the Alfalfa Club dinner Saturday. The Alfalfa Club is a social organization of politicians and corporate executives that puts on an exclusive annual dinner, which is closed to the press. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/01/30/george-h-w-bush-visits-white-house/

Maybe he was hoping he could pretend Obama was his son instead of those losers he helped put on Earth?
