Ask President Obama a Question (from the White House)

The President will respond to your questions in a live YouTube interview at the White House on Monday, February 1st, at 1:45 p.m EST. Submit now, and vote often. The deadline is Sunday at 8 p.m. EST.

If you can, shoot a video of yourself asking the question (please keep it under 20 seconds). After your votes are in, we'll collect the top questions, ensuring we cover a range of issues, minimize duplicate questions, and include both video and text submissions.

This is your opportunity for an exclusive interview with the President, so be sure to submit great questions and vote for the ones you think should be asked.

On Monday afternoon, as a follow-up to his State of the Union address, President Obama will give a live interview to YouTube from the White House -- and every single question will come from you. You can submit your questions in video or in text, and you can vote on which questions you think should be asked on CitizenTube. Your votes will determine the top questions posed during the discussion with the President. The deadline for submission is Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST.

What makes a good question? That's entirely up to you. We would love to see as many video questions as possible, so if you can, record your question on camera and upload it to YouTube. Be sure to keep it under 20 seconds, and make sure the video and audio quality is crisp and clear. The Moderator platform allows for text questions, too - so if you don't have time to post a video, feel free to simply type your question. We'll use a mixture of both in the interview.

Don't be afraid to ask tough questions - this is your opportunity to have direct access to the President. Though we obviously won't get to each of the thousands of questions that have been submitted, you'll have a say in which questions are asked by voting on your favorites - so come back to CitizenTube and vote often.

4. Here's my two
Mr. President, The debate is about "insurance reform". I submit we don't need insurance reform; we need healthcare for all. Why not combine Medicare & Medicaid and open it to all Americans? Why not begin the process by opening the VA to all veterans?

Mr. President, We can't keep living in debt; people must understand that all this stuff we enjoy as Americans is not free and everyone has an obligation to pay their fair share of the rent. How will you address the anti-tax sentiment in the country?

7. the opposition gladly and eagerly fills the political vacuums
. . . left by the disenchanted and the apathetic among us. Politics is 'talk' and persuasion. We should always strive have our views represented in important political debates; especially those which actually have a chance of catching the attention of the Chief Executive.

And, while I'm fully aware of this president's shortcomings, I don't believe corruption or greed are among them.

15. cliches are cheap. talk is not automatically so.
and the talk that Obama's engaged in recently has been quite worthwhile.

I really don't know of a less worthwhile cliche than the one you just indulged in.

16. talk is important
If he can get the public on his side, that can pressure lawmakers. It's the only way to compete at all with money.

I just submitted mine, so I can guide you . . .

start here: http://www.youtube.com/citizentube#p/c/EB843ABAF59735FD

you'll see this presentation:

Ask President Obama a Question
The President will respond to your questions in a live YouTube interview at the White House on Monday, February 1st, at 1:45 p.m EST. Submit now, and vote often. The deadline is Sunday at 8 p.m. EST.

This is your opportunity for an exclusive interview with the President, so be sure to submit great questions and vote for the ones you think should be asked.

at the bottom of the paragraphs, there are two buttons (hit submit)

Submit a question_________View Questions

You need to be registered and signed in on Google or You Tube. If not, there will be a link to get you there. After hitting submit, it'll take you to a page of questions by topic with another 'Submit Question' button at the top. Hit that button and you should get a standard message box to enter your question by topic.

I got a message that my question was similar to another and they wanted me to vote on the other one to replace mine. I simplified my question and it went through on it's own.

this is how mine came up:

"How integral are the Afghan government's reconciliation efforts with 'non-al-Qaeda' Taliban to your overall goals of securing peace and stability in the country?"
