4. bernanke is hardly the worst guy for the job

i'm not at at thrilled with the panicky way the bailout was handled (though i blame paulsen more than bernanke for that) but his interest rate policies have been almost ideal from a liberal perspective.

someone like greenspan, who made preservation of wealth for the super-rich of paramount importance, would have been jacking up interest rates already to keep keep even a whiff of inflation at bay. which would have made matters even worse, naturally.


sure we could do a bit better than bernanke, but we've got far bigger battles.

But I don't think our "leaders" want to take that direction, even at the cost of continued declining confidence.

but i've long since given up on getting ideal people in particular jobs, i'm happy if i'm overall i'm more leaning toward "approve" rather than "disapprove".
