Mobile Billboard Plauges LA
In http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=7247513&rss=rss-kabc-article-7247513">Los Angeles, there is a struggle over mobile billboard. People are complaining left and right about the mobile billboards. These mobile billboards can park on any street in the state that these please.

My question: Does anybody has a problem with excessive mobile billboards in their area? In my area (South Orange County, California), I never see this billboards around.

To me, it is like urban blight like graffati. On the other hand, struggling, legit businesses might need to advertise their services to the public. Most of these signs are from small businesses and not large corporations.

This case is a toss-up

6. I hate those damn things.
They are all over the place in Vegas and I can't think of a more obtrusive way to waste fuel. Here in San Diego, they frequent the beach areas.

On a related topic, I'm usually the last one to call for more laws, especially when it relates to motor vehicles, but it should be illegal to park a big rig in such a way as to constitute a billboard. There are several around here that say "Jesus is not a curse word" and they are oftentimes parked on freeway overpasses.

9. We don't have any of them around here
They would be a waste of time since we have like 100 people in the whole friggin county and none of them have a job anyway.

12. Interesting solution...
It's illegal to just take the damn things... theft and all. It's illegal to destroy them, too.

But...

In the past, some of us "Sign vigilantes"simply covered them over. Paper.. black plastic bags... whatever.

The real estate signs that we knew were illegal turned into Un-signs.

After a few times, the owners just moved them somewhere else.
