accolades for obama
dont get me wrong and come at me with gnashing teeth but there are some things about Obama which i do not like and which smacks of politics as usual. First there are those who are trying to bring bush and his criminal thugs to court over iraq but he is blocking it. Why? To avoid discord? To hell with discord they broke the law and should pay for their actions.
Second his promise to close Guantanamo have gone down the tubes and he is still allowing indefinite detention without due process of law. As a professor of constitutional law he should know better.
Third instead of leaving Iraq he is sending more troops and wasting more money on a war that cannot be won now or in a thousand years. The usual refrain is that we cant just leave Iraq. Why not? The minute we are gone they will find a way to look after themselves. Naturally the whole idea is oil but we can get rid of that problem if we get off our asses and buy smaller more efficient cars or even hybrids. New products are coming out all the time yet i don't hear much of that. Someone in san diego had rigged up his truck to run on garbage and was given a ticket for illegally transporting garbage!!!
If we want to see real change putting bush et al on trial will finally convince the people that real change is in the air, that politicians are not immune to the their shenanigans and perhaps that might make a difference. Notice i said perhaps.
Finally the unbelievable spending frenzy by the military. We have been unable to win a f...g war since vietnam except for grenada and that was a victory to end all victories! We have bases all over the world protecting countries which are far better off than we are such as Germany and japan. Perhaps if we closed the bases and the troops came home then the unemployment rate would shoot through the roof.
As to last night's debate yes he certainly put down the republicans for the conniving fools that they are but remember that the republican base is made of either millionaires or just plain ignorant people so i dont think that will do much good. Good for him for trying though.
Please anyone responding to this do it in a thoughtful well thought out manner and not in the usual insulting was which many duer's seem to think is the best way to respond nowadays.

1. I can't read this. How about a double space between paragraphs?

I'm sorry, but you just did the very thing that you are accusing everyone else of doing. You ended your original post in an insulting manner. Please think about it.
