1. Dick is without a doubt the most important American novelist of the 21st Century

And, he died in 1982. He was just a little ahead of most of the rest of us. Dick's novels and short stories perfectly captures our own schizophrenic era of stage-managed exaltation, media chaos, overarching political paranoia, and private despair felt by sensitive people. No wonder there's a rush on to make his books into movies. I hope he finally gets the recognition as a visionary he so richly deserves.

Thanks for the link to the LA Times articles about him. Who says that paper doesn't print anything interesting, anymore?
